Welcome to the Birds nest, in the quietest corner of Chiang Mai's old city.  Find some of the best Arabica coffee in town served strong in big mugs.  Herbal teas, Massala tea and unlimited fruit  smoothies.  Our restaurant has a full menu with ad hoc mix of Mediterranea and Thai food.  We have Shakshuka, large omlette's, pancakes served with local fruits honey and lemon, cinnamon French toast.  Mediterranean style sandwiches include homemade hummus and salsa in wholewheat pita bread, pesto with mozzarella and salad, chicken spinach and mushrooms, grilled tuna with cheese and fresh paprika, a classic grilled ham and cheese sandwich, omlette baguettes, grilled vegetables and mayonnaise.  Don't miss our warmed pumpkin and carrot salad with shallots, tomato and sweet basil.  For the full Birds nest flavour try the Mezze Plate with hummus, tazziki, pesto and guacamole - all homemade - and wholewheat pita bread.  Our Caprese Bruschetta holds it's own with the best Italian restaurants in town.  Thai food consists of classics like Green Curry, Paneang and Massaman Curries, Basil (Grapaow) Chicken and Drunken Spaghetti.      

More than a cafe and more than a restaurant, the Birds nest is a home - relax on our sofa bed reading a book from our growing library, play a game of chess or jenga with friends, take in the art on the walls, watch the soi traffic go by, listen to our collection of jazz, blues and soul records, pick up the guitar standing in the corner or take a nap if you need.  Birds nest has free wifi and a computer if you don't have a laptop with you.  Best of all we have a friendly staff who will serve you free water and take your orders in English or Thai.
